The Curriculum at Flourish ELC
Our key learning and development areas underpin our curriculum and guide our educational practices. Each age group is carefully catered for when designing our activities and experiences.
Creative Arts
Creativity is at the heart of early learning and our Creative Arts program encourages children to explore self-expression through dramatic play, visual arts, music, dance and cultural storytelling. By engaging in open-ended creative experiences, children develop confidence, communication skills and emotional wellbeing.
Our program incorporates cultural traditions and diverse artistic styles, allowing children to connect with the world around them while fostering a deep appreciation for different forms of expression.
Whether through role-playing, painting, movement or music exploration, children are empowered to think imaginatively and express themselves freely.

Sustainability
We believe in nurturing young environmental stewards through hands-on sustainability practices that foster respect for our planet.
Our program teaches children about recycling, composting, repurposing materials and the importance of reducing waste.
Through planting and growing their own fruits, vegetables and herbs, children learn about the life cycle of plants and the benefits of sustainable living.
By using natural resources creatively and engaging in eco-friendly projects, children develop a sense of responsibility and care for the environment, creating lifelong habits that contribute to a greener future.

STEM (Science, Technology, Engineering, and Mathematics)
Our STEM program is designed to inspire curiosity, critical thinking and problem-solving skills in young learners.
Through hands-on experiments, construction activities and interactive technology, children explore scientific concepts, mathematical thinking, and engineering principles.
Whether investigating the human body, observing animal life, or building structures, our program fosters discovery and innovation.
By encouraging children to ask questions, experiment and explore the world around them, we lay the foundation for lifelong learning in science, technology, engineering, and mathematics.

Munch & Move
The Munch & Move program is a NSW Health initiative in Australia that promotes healthy eating, physical activity and reduced screen time for children in early childhood education and care services. It provides educators with resources and training to encourage active play, healthy food choices and lifelong healthy habits. The program supports children's physical development and wellbeing through fun, engaging activities like cooking, movement games and mindfulness practices.
Healthy bodies and minds are nurtured through our Munch & Move program, which combines nutrition education, cooking experiences and physical activity. Children participate in hands-on cooking classes where they learn about fresh ingredients, healthy eating habits and the joy of preparing their own meals. Daily physical activities, including dance, yoga and mindfulness exercises, promote coordination, balance and overall wellbeing. By encouraging active play and fostering a love for nutritious foods, we support children in developing healthy lifestyle habits that will benefit them for years to come.

Cultural Education
Diversity and inclusion are celebrated through our Cultural Education program, where children learn about Indigenous heritage, world cultures and the importance of embracing differences.
Through storytelling, music, art, and traditional celebrations, children gain an appreciation for cultural diversity and respect for people from all backgrounds.
Our program encourages inclusivity, understanding and a global mindset, helping children develop a sense of belonging in a multicultural world.
By fostering an environment where all cultures are valued and explored, we create meaningful connections that enrich every child’s learning experience.

School Readiness Program
The aim of Flourish ELC’s School Readiness program is to support and empower children, arming them with the skills, knowledge and confidence to successfully and happily transition to Primary School. The program is designed for ages 4 to 5 years. Children aged 3 years old have the opportunity to participate in some of the program with adaptations to suit their level of development.
Our approach is balanced, supportive and encouraging for your child. Our teachers are trained in Early Childhood Education and Care through external institutions and further supported through in-house training and development programs. We focus on age-appropriate curriculum planning incorporating children’s interests which is guided by the Early Years Learning Framework. Your child will participate in hands on interactive learning in small groups with teachers by their side. Through our specially developed routines, transitions and curriculum implementation, your child is wholistically supported in line with their capabilities and level of development. We aim to ensure our graduates have a strong sense of identity and embrace learning new things with confidence
Our teachers design activities and experiences aimed at developing and extending each child’s thinking, skills, interests and abilities. We build on foundational skills with focus areas including writing, science and mathematics, through play-based programs based and focussed on children’s interests. Children’s interests may be existing or develop through topics and concepts which we introduce.
Outcomes we aim to have graduates confident in include:
- Language
- Independence
- Mathematics
- Social & Emotional
- Fine Motor Skills
- Music and Movment
