From Britt…

I began my career enjoying a role in Outdoor Recreation working with older children. Through an unexpected opportunity, I transitioned to Outside Hours School Care as an educator. During this time, I quickly discovered a genuine passion for supporting children’s development. This experience inspired me to broaden my impact, particularly with younger age groups, which led me to complete my Certificate III and subsequently a Diploma in Early Childhood Education and Care.

As my knowledge and confidence grew, I naturally stepped into mentoring roles, supporting newer educators and helping them create engaging, supportive and educational programs. I found great fulfilment in guiding my team, fostering high‑quality practice, and contributing to positive learning environments. This passion for leadership and continuous improvement ultimately motivated me to pursue management roles within the sector.

As a Centre Director and Educator, I have several strengths and areas of passion that I being to my role:

  • A genuine passion to support children’s development
  • Education through child-centred practice
  • Satisfaction gained through leadership and mentoring

Some phrases from our centre philosophy that really resonate with me include:

  • Sustainability, environmentally responsible practices and respect the natural world”. I have a passion for ensuring that we leave our world in a better state for the next generation. I believe in equipping children with skills that empower them to care and respect their environment.
  • A school readiness program equipping children with skills to transition confidently to school” Through my previous work in school settings I have seen firsthand the impact a strong school readiness program can have.
  • Families are our most important partners…” By supporting families, we create conditions for children to reach their full potential.

In my downtime, I love spending quality time with my family. We enjoy getting out into nature, going on bushwalks and taking long drives to discover new and interesting places. I’m also happiest when near the water – whether it’s a day at the beach, a relaxing swim, or spending time at local swimming pools.

I enjoy shopping. Music is another big part of my life: it recharges me and helps me engage with a positive mindset.

My hobbies help me to stay balanced, energised and ready to bring my best self to the children and families I work with.
